Allergy Awareness Program
Over 15% of NDES's student population have food allergies and/or dietary restrictions. We strive to do our best each and every day to keep all our children safe. All classrooms are nut free and our lunchroom provides a “safe” place as well as monitoring students with food allergies.
Because of the increasing numbers of students with allergies and dietary restrictions, an allergy awareness program was started at NDES, organized through the Notre Dame Parent Association. Its purpose is to help educate families at NDES on the potentially life-threatening medical condition of food allergies and find ways to keep students with life-threatening allergies safe, while enjoying school activities.
Snack Safely.com is a resource that provides a huge interactive list of allergy-friendly products used by thousands of schools nationwide to help keep allergens out of the classroom and the home.
