Sixth graders showcased their knowledge of ancient India by creating news segments about Ancient India in Mrs. Ball’s social studies class. Some of the news segment topics included in the newscast were a weather report about monsoons, a breaking news story pertaining to the caste system, a game-show style segment with questions about Hinduism and Buddhism, a political debate with leaders like Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka, a commercial about housing in Harappa, and a lot more! Once students chose their topic for their segment, they conducted research about their topic and wrote a script, which they performed as part of the official class newscast. We can’t wait to see the next newscast in March over Ancient China!
