Graduation Information

Commencement & Reception Information

Commencement - Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm
 
Commencement in the NDEC Chapel 6:30pm
Reception to follow in  the NDEC Auditorium

All graduate families must register. Each graduate is given three complimentary tickets which includes the student and two parents/guardians. Additional guest tickets can be purchased for $15 per person on the same form. Tickets are first come, first serve.

May 26, 2020: Graduates are to report to their homerooms by 6:00pm dressed in their graduation gowns. Girls should wear a nice, appropriate dress under their gown and boys should wear dress pants and dress shirt with a tie under their gown. A special celebration will take place after the awards and ceremony. It will include heavy appetizers, light refreshments as well as a photobooth donated by parents and a special favor for each graduate.   

Important Dates and Information

January 31, 2020: Photos of your 8th Grade Student
The graduation committee makes a special keepsake memory board for our graduates—an 18 x 24 photo board of a collection of photos that will be displayed at the school in the weeks leading up to graduation and also at the graduation ceremony.   To do this, we will need the following:

  • 25-30 photos (not printed on copy paper) of your child, your family, special events, anything you’d like to include about them growing up.  
  • Place in a zip-loc bag with NAME OF STUDENT and FIRST NAME as you would like it to be displayed on the board to the attn of: 8th Grade Graduation Committee.  
  • Any unused photos will be returned.
  • Photos submissions are due Jan. 31.  (This is a big project and takes a lot of time to make them look great!  The volunteers appreciate getting the photos on time.) 

 “Cute as can be” is a picture to be placed in the yearbook and a slide show at graduation. This can be a baby picture or toddler picture.Can be a digital image or hard copy.These need to be received by March 1st.Thank you.

January 31, 2020: Graduation Gown Sizing and Diploma Names
All graduates will receive a diploma and a graduation gown. To ensure we have the correct size and name for the diploma, please click here and complete. The graduation gown will be worn during the special graduation celebrations. 
 
Eighth Grade Pictures - TBD 
Mrs. Melissa Lazuka will be taking 8th grade pictures. Students should wear white T-shirts and jeans or khakis that day.  
April 15th will be the rain date. 
 
Mid May: Students Receive Graduation Gowns
Students will receive their graduation gowns. They need to be neatly pressed/steamed for the closing Mass, Awards Ceremony and Graduation.
 
May 1, 2019: Registration for Graduation Opens

May 21, 2020: Closing School Mass 8:30am NDEC Chapel
The graduates are to arrive at school at the usual time in their school uniform. They need to bring their graduation gown with them
on a hanger. They will wear their graduation gown to Mass.
 
May 21, 2020: Class Picnic Celebration and Traditional Clap Out 
Students should bring a change of clothes for the class picnic. The school community will recognize the graduates with our Traditional Clap Out at 2:20pm. 
 
May 22, 2020: No Classes for Graduates
