Scholastic Book Fair

Scholastic Book Fair

Twice a year, the NDES Library Program holds the Scholastic Book Fair during the fall and spring. Students in K–8 view and purchase the latest books during the school day. The book fair operates during school hours 8am - 3pm. Preschool children are encouraged to attend with their care giver.

A portion of all book fair sales directly benefits the library. In addition, students get a chance to participate in games and contests to help raise funds for the library.

Lunch with Loved One

During the preview days of the book fair, select grades participate in the Lunch with Loved One program.  During the fall, the Kindergarten participates in the Lunch with a Loved One program, and in the spring the 1st grade participates.
On this day, a special loved one (parent, grandparent, aunt or special friend) joins the student for lunch and provides a lunch for their child and themselves. After lunch, they preview and purchase books.  There are hundreds of great books to select from at the Scholastic Book Fair.
If no one is available to attend, an adult volunteer will accompany the child and a lunch will be provided for them from our dining room and the cost will be $3.90.
